This has already begun! Valencia Basket & Cáritas starts the V One Team Taronja Project

Fifth Edition of One Team leaded by Euroleague Basketball i son, with the 1st practice on the basketball facilities of La Petxina. This is the 5th One Team project leaded by Valencia Basket, where basketball will serve as a vehicle to promote wellness and social inclusion. On thi case, our Club will work side by side with Cáritas, to help with a better entourage and the sport practice a group of boys and girls, related to Proyecto Hiedra.

 

On this first stage, the working group, fifteen young guys between 13 and 17 years old, met their coaches, Paco Pardo, Pepe Casares and Juanjo Rojo. Project will be supported again by Obra Social La Caixa.

 

Víctor Luengo, Valencia Basket One Team Manager, spoke about the start of this new project, “we’re grateful to Cáritas because they want to be a part of a One Team Project, and we are grateful to help their Proyecto Hiedra”. Luengo keeps speaking, One Team will add “values formation, we’re not here to teach basketball, we’re here to teach basketball values, such as teamwork, integration and equality”.

 

This Project has 10 practices, starting now, and finishing on February. We want youngsters to live positive experiences and healthy habits to be able to transfer them on scholarship or in their working experiences. Valencia Basket players Sam Van Rossom and Luke Sikma will take part on practices as ambassadors.
