Halfway through in the Worcester- Valencia Basket International Basket Camp 2017

Arriving on Thursday, we have already spent half the days of the second edition of the Worcester- Valencia Basket International Basket Camp 2017. And the participants have made a small break in their sports and academic activities to put on their new Valencia Basket kit and take the group photo with their coaches and teachers.

 

There is still much to learn and to enjoy for the more than 80 players who are on the Campus, some thirty of whom are young spanish players between the ages of 11 and 18. Two full days of work ahead (with three training sessions per day and two hours of English classes with native teachers for Spanish campers), the resolution of the leagues and internal competitions and the visit to the hometown of Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon, to be held on Saturday 26.

 

For this second International Campus Worcester-Valencia Basket, the duration has increased in two days to arrive at eight days and its price fell by 15%, staying at 1,100 euros, including direct flights Valencia-London-Valencia, accommodation and board Complete, English classes, official Valencia Basket kit, excursion and transfers in United Kingdom.

 

High coaching quality

Two leading basketball clubs in the United Kingdom and Spain have joined forces to deliver a unique summer residential experience for aspiring talented young players. The coaching team for camp´s duration includes the senior coaching staff and players from the Worcester Wolves (led by Wolves and England Head Coach, Paul James) and senior coaches from Valencia Basket of the ACB league.

 

Basketball & English intensive Daily Program

The daily programme runs from 9 am to 9 pm, including 2 hours of English class by native teachers, mixed with the daily practices in English that will include skill stations, drills, individual workouts and analysis, competitions and a minimum of two games per day

 

Attendees are grouped by age and skills level to provide a challenging, yet positive Worcester- Valencia Basket camp experience, in an English-speaking environment.

 

Equipped by Valencia Basket

Each camper will receive official Valencia Basket clothing, on behalf of their technical sponsor Luanvi, that includes hoodie, t-shirt, reversible vest, playing uniform (shorts and vest) and a large official club player’s kit bag.

 

Excellent basketball facilities

The University of Worcester Arena is an iconic and inclusive 2,000 seat venue with three competition basketball playing courts, courtside teaching facilities, corporate area and extended changing rooms with ice baths.

 

The Arena has been the training base for GB Men and Women in preparation for Eurobasket 2015 Championships. It is the home of GB Men and Women Wheelchair Basketball teams and hosted the 2015 European Wheelchair Basketball Championships.

 

There are two additional basketball courts with adjoining fitness facilities at the University’s St. John’s Sports Centre.

 

A perfect environment and accommodation

The University of Worcester facilities are housed within a large campus which offers large, secure landscaped areas. Each floor of the residence consists of 6 spacious rooms, with common comfortable and practical places. The campus has a location close to the center of the city and with perfect areas for sightseeing or shopping (supervised).

 

The town of Worcester is a beautiful town dating back to the 12th century with its own cathedral. Its location makes it easy to reach the cities of Birmingham, Warwick, Stratford-Xpon-Avon, Cardiff and London. It is situated on the River Severn in a rural county surrounded by beautiful scenery and views including the Malvern Hills.

 

Excursion to Stratford-upon-Avon

Participants at the Worcester-Valencia Basket International Campus will have the opportunity to get to know the neighboring town of Stratford-upon-Avon on an organized tour and immersion program in English culture.
