Valencia Basket seeks in Belgrade to win Crvena Zvevda in the Euroleague for the first time

14/03/2018

After two consecutive games at La Fonteta, Valencia Basket starts again looking for his first victory outside of Spain in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague visiting the Crvena Zvevda MTS Belgrade’s court (Thursday 15th, 18:45h, Aleksandar Nikolic Hall, Movistar Deportes 1). The taronja squad will try to get its first win against this opponent in the maximum continental competition since the Serbian team has prevailed in the three previous meetings in the Euroleague. Although the taronja team already won the EuroCup in the only previous match that has been played on the stage of tomorrow's game, the Sala Pionir, to which Valencia Basket returns nine years after that victory in the red and white field.

For this match, coach Txus Vidorreta will not have forward Fernando San Emeterio (with a sprained right ankle) neither than Sam Van Rossom (who has already started practicing after overcoming of his back injury, but is not yet in an optimal state to compete), as well as with the long-term injured Antoine Diot. Aaron Doornekamp, who has missed the practice today due to a viral process, travels with the expedition and is expected to help in Belgrade tomorrow. The taronja team comes to this match with a victory of disadvantage compared to the Serbian team, with a balance of 9-16, so it would surpass in the classification the Crvena Zvevda MTS Belgrade if gets the win and also recovers the four points of disadvantage of the first leg game played at Fonteta
