The court of a renewed Baxi Manresa puts the taronja good shape to test

02/02/2019

Valencia Basket opens the away-games section in the second leg of the Endesa League by visiting the court of Baxi Manresa (Sunday 3, 7:30 p.m., Nou Congost, Movistar +) in the game that will close on the round 19. The taronja squad will try to maintain its position in the Top 4 and its good dynamic of results, with 16 wins in the last 17 games, in a court that historically has been good for us in this decade (seven wins in his last eight visits)

However, Valencia Basket will face the best Baxi Manresa at the qualifying level of recent years. In fact, our team does not visit Manresa with the local team involved in Playoff positions for 21 years. It was in the 1997-98 season, a pleasant memory for both teams. The Valencian won the Copa del Rey and the Catalan team lifted the ACB League title months later.

The taronja squad will hold two practice sessions at Nou Congost, so this morning they have moved to Manresa with the twelve players available. Point-guard Antoine Diot (left hamstring injury) and power forward Louis Labeyrie (vertigo) will be sidelined for this game. Valencia Basket currently occupies the fourth position in the Endesa League with a record of twelve victories and six defeats, with a seven wins in its last eight national competition games streak.
