Valencia Basket seeks to seal his ticket for the Playoffs hosting Cafés Candelas Breogán

03/05/2019

Valencia Basket starts at home the last month of the Regular Season hosting Cafés Candelas Breogán in a Endesa League round 30 game (Saturday 4, 18:00h, Fonteta, Movistar Deportes). The team will try to extend its four-games winning streak and add a victory that would allow the taronja squad to guarantee mathematically the spot in the Endesa League Playoffs for the 13th consecutive season.

It will not be easy against an needed opponent and with the injuries that accumulate in the backcourt rotation: Abalde (surgery on a finger of the right hand), Van Rossom (bone edema in the left knee), Diot (hamstring) and Matt Thomas (right thigh bruise) will not be against the Galicians. In a call with only nine pro players and only one point-guard, Young players Josep Puerto and Tomas Pavelka will complete the roster. Valencia Basket currently occupies the fourth position of the Endesa League with a balance of 19-10.

Jaume Ponsarnau

"Cafés Candelas Breogán has totally changed the philosophy with the change of coach. Now it is a very vertical team, very aggressive. The signing of McCallum has meant a lot for this change of philosophy. It is a team that wants to attack the hoop, which seeks the advantage from the determination and at this moment is playing very well and with a lot of competitive ability. We are going to have to be good in everything that is to control that”.
