01/08/2019

August has started strongly in L’Alqueria del Basket. The new Sports Councilor of the Valencia City Council Pilar Bernabé has taken advantage of the presence of the Europe & Middle East Training Camp of the Jr. NBA Global Championship to carry out her first official visit to the Valencia Basket facilities during this morning. A visit where she has been guided and accompanied by Mª Ángeles Vidal, coordinator of L’Alqueria, and Chechu Mulero, sports director of the Taronja club.

Pilar Bernabé was delighted in her first visit to L’Alqueria del Basket and did not hesitate to point out that “it is a luxury for the city of Valencia to have facilities of this level, which are a benchmark in Europe and worldwide. And which is here, in this city that we aspire to be the reference sports city of our country, where we are lucky to receive this Campus organized by the NBA. I want to thank you on behalf of the Valencia City Council that you have decided to come here with the young people who are going to play the World Cup in Orlando, which is a luxury for the city and an honor for the City Council. We have to ally ourselves with the institutions that work every day to make Valencia a benchmark in the world of sports and a welcoming city of great athletes”.

The Sports Councilor of the City of Valencia had the opportunity to talk with the former professional player and ambassador of the Jr. NBA Training Camp Allison Feaster. And he revealed that “we have commented on the growth of the foundation of L’Alqueria del Basket, as the city has been transformed into a city that is friendly to sports and especially to women's sports. She who was a Ros Casares player and who knows this city and the world of basketball in Spain well told me about the importance of this determined commitment of Valencia Basket for women's basketball. This City Council will always be with clubs that put the interests of women and athletes at the same level as that of men.
