EBA team starts its preseason

13/08/2019

The preseason of EBA team of Valencia Basket starts to roll. The players of the Taronja branch completed the medical checkups last week, yesterday they did a physical testing day and today they started with the group workouts.

Again under the direction of coach Ángel Cepeda, the EBA gets down to work to begin with the best possible tone the new season that will begin in early October. Almost two months of preparation for taronja players. Some of them will help the men's team in preseason for the absences due to the World Cup in China.

The making of the team keeps the road map that has taken in recent seasons. This year's team consists of a total of seven seniors -a maximum of eight according to the idea of the club- and none of them older than 22 years. Icelandic signing Hilmar Heninngson, Tomas Pavelka, Alejandro Ortega, Alejandro Ribas, Javier Soler, Jovi Merencio and Álvaro Albadalejo are the seven seniors. Alfonso Ribera, Emil Savic, Ion Galarza and Rafa Segura do not continue in the club.

The rest of the group will be completed by junior A players, once again trained by Xavi Albert, who can play in both ACB and Euroleague if necessary. It must be taken into account that to participate in the competitions of the men’s team without occupying the position of senior player, the ACB's criterion is that it must be sub22 while in Euroleague it must be sub20.

The EBA season will begin on October 5 debuting with Puerto de Sagunto. The rest of the rivals that complete the E-A conference are Picken Claret, Power Electronics Paterna, Refitel Bàsquet Llíria, CB Tabernes Blanques A, Sonia Bath Godella and TAU Castelló B.
