Valencia Basket opens the Euroleague in a big way hosting the reigning champion CSKA Moscow

03/10/2019

Valencia Basket begins the participation in its third Turkish Airlines Euroleague in six seasons with the traditional confrontation between the EuroCup champion and the Euroleague champion, so the taronja squad will open the tournament in Fonteta hosting CSKA Moscow (Friday 4, 21:00 hours, DAZN). The Taronja team opens its fifth participation in the highest category of European basketball against an opponent who has never won at Fonteta (two Russian defeats in the previous ones) in a game that has been designated as Game of the Week and will be seen live in more than 130 countries. Senegalese power forward Maurice Ndour could play his first official game as taronja player in this game after overcoming his arm injury, while the question is whether Jordan Loyd will be able to participate after missing last Sunday's game in Bilbao due to a problem in his right knee.

Despite losing important players, CSKA Moscow has signed very interesting reinforcements and much of the roster that raised the title in Vitoria a few months ago still there. Of his two players coming directly from the NBA, the guard Ron Baker will premiere in this game after not being registered in the VTB-League and the center Kosta Koufos has missed the last games of the Russian team due to a leg injury.
