The taronja illusion is put to the test vs. the solidity of Real Madrid in Copa del Rey semifinals

14/02/2020

Valencia Basket returns to the semifinals of the Copa del Rey after two years of absence after eliminating Barça in the quarterfinals and does so to face another of the great favorites, Real Madrid (Friday 15, 18:30h, Martín Carpena, #Vamos).

The Taronja squad will try to extend its good dynamics (three straight wins away from La Fonteta) and keep the good feelings shown in the yesterday’s game against Barça to find a win that would qualify them for its sixth final of the Copa del Rey. For now, Valencia Basket will play his twelfth semifinal of the KO tournament tomorrow.

With captain Bojan Dubljevic 7 points away from becoming the top scorer of Valencia Basket in the Copa del Rey, the Taronja squad will look for a win that breaks their bad streak against Real Madrid both in the Cup (0-2 favorable to the whites) as in the current season (two victories in the capital of Spain for Real Madrid in both the Turkish Airlines Euroleague and the Endesa League games).

Sam Van Rossom and Jordan Loyd still sidelined, while Guillem Vives is expected to be able to play even if he is somewhat depleted by the heavy blow he received in the thigh in the quarterfinals game.
