Hard test on the court of one of this Euroleague big sensations, FC Bayern Munich

12/11/2020

Valencia Basket returns to the road to face the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague round 8 game that will take the taronja squad to visit the FC Bayern Munich’s court (Friday 13, 8:30 p.m., Audi Dome, DAZN), a gym that has been especially favorable in the past since it has always come out with the win and against a rival that it has always beaten in an official game (4-0 in the precedents so far). And who also won 84-76 in the preseason game at the Fonteta.

Coach Jaume Ponsarnau recovers the participation of Fernando San Emeterio for this game, Vanja Marinkovic, Joan Sastre and Mike Tobey still sidelined and Derrick Williams and point guard Sam Van Rossom are probable after missing the last team practices. The Belgian point-guard who could reach 50 Euroleague games with Valencia Basket jersey tomorrow.

The taronja team travels to Germany (where they have won in 12 of their 17 visits) placed in fourth position in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with a 4-2 record.

Jaume Ponsarnau

"It is a court where I think they even know how to be a bit better, despite the high level they have shown until now. They did that by spending a lot of physical energy on both ends. They propose many things in defense and they make opponents uncomfortable. In offense they combine talent and experience. We expect a tough game, this is the EuroLeague."

Fernando San Emeterio

"I am feeling better from my injury. I want to help the team, it's no fun to be sidelined not able to help. It will be a complicated game agaist a tough game. We could see that in the summer, during the preseason tournament. Maybe they do not have the big names, but they play well, physical, and we must be ready to match that high level."
