Valencia Basket opens the second leg of the Euroleague on the FC Barcelona’s court

06/01/2021

Valencia Basket opens the second leg of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season visiting the FC Barcelona’s court (Thursday 7, 9:00 p.m., Palau Blaugrana, DAZN) in a game that represents the second stage of the taronja tour of four away games in a row.

After starting 2021 with two solid victories in the Endesa League, the taronja squad will try to return to the path of victory in European competition on a court where has never won in the Euroleague (0-2 so far), but in which this same season won in a Endesa League by 90-100. It will be the third clash between these two teams in the current campaign, with a victory for each side (Barça won at Fonteta on round 3 of the Euroleague by 66-71).

In a match with many aspects to take into account, the two teams that shoot the best out of two in the competition are measured in a confrontation in which the Taronja team will try to impose its offensive effectiveness against the second-best defense in the competition (73, 65 points received by the Catalans).

The big news is the return of Guillem Vives, who has missed the last three games due to a muscle contusion in his left thigh. The Catalan playmaker has already joined practices and will be in the 12-men roster for tomorrow. Valencia Basket currently occupies the seventh position in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with 10-7 in the standings.
