Valencia Basket seeks its third acb final in a do-or-die game on the Real Madrid’s court

09/06/2021

Valencia Basket returns to the Wizink Center for the fifth time this season with the aim of seeking a victory in its third and final game of the semifinal series against Real Madrid (Thursday 10, 10:00 p.m., Wizink Center, #Vamos) that will it would allow them to qualify for its third Liga Endesa final.

After extending the series with a win by 85-67 in game 2 played yesterday, the taronja squad will face its sixth game in eleven days trusting that the fact of having lengthened the rotation and distributed the minutes among the available players will allow it to have enough energy to face this difficult challenge, in which the Whites will once again have the support of up to a thousand of their fans.

The particular precedents are not favorable to the taronja squad, which has only won one of the three do-or-die game it has played in the semifinals. Nor are the general precedents, since there is only one precedent for a team that has risen 1-0 against in a best-of-three semifinal series in the entire history of the Endesa League.

However, the balance of direct confrontations this season is favorable to the Taronja squad by 4 to 3 and Jaume Ponsarnau's men became yesterday the first team to defend their court against Real Madrid in national competition. The Valencia Basket coach has his entire squad, who will travel to Madrid tomorrow morning by train.
