19/07/2023

Valencia Basket has already defined the coaching staff for its professional teams for next season. The main change of the season will affect both transversally, with the creation of the Department of Basketball Performance Sciences, which will help take the structure to another level. Its objective is to improve the interaction between areas, communication between professionals and that all this leads to multidisciplinary benefits for athletes, both from professional teams and from the Youth Academy. This new Department will encompass the areas of physical preparation, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, nutrition, psychology and medicine. Pedro Cotolí, also responsible for the Club's Co-innovation Department, L'Alqueria LAB, will lead this new area.

As far as the coaching staff of the men's first team is concerned, Álex Mumbrú will once again have Juan Maroto and Fernando San Emeterio by his side as assistant coaches, to whom Xavi Albert joins, after his great work at the helm of the LEB Plata team. Pau Alcácer will become the team's physical trainer, while Joan Martínez and Adrián Valverde will continue to lead physiotherapy. Alfonso Castilla continues as delegate, and Nacho Muñoz and Sergio Calvache in charge of medical services. Paco Plaza repeats as a utility man. Julio Galcerán will be responsible for the readaptation of the Club, both first teams and L'Alqueria del Basket.

On the other side, the women coaching staff of the women's team is once again led by Rubén Burgos who extends his contract until 2025 on the Taronja bench. Together with him again Roberto Hernández and Marta Sorlí as assistant technicians. Javi Bayarri will be the physical trainer while Julia Cerrillo and Agustin Girbés will be in charge of physiotherapy. Sergi Blasco continues as delegate and Vicente Sebastiá as doctor.
