Valencia Basket wins EB ANGT Valencia title

Valencia Basket was proclaimed winner of the first edition of the EB Adidas Next Generation Tournament that was played in Valencia after winning Unipol Banca Virtus Bologna in the final by 82-71. After going undefeated in the first round played at the facilities of L'Alqueria del Basket, the triumph of juniors taronja was followed by 1,600 people in the Fonteta. This victory ensures the presence of Valencia Basket in the Final Eight of EB ANGT that will be played in Vitoria between May 16 and 19, at the same time that the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four.

 

Marc García, member of the All-Tournament Team, was the best player of the championship game with with 20 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for 30 index. The tournament’s MVP, Unipol Banca Virtus Bologna center Gora Camara, had a smaller participation than usual with a foul trouble in the game and finished the final with 8 points and 8 rebounds. Joining these two players, on the All-Tournament Team were Aleix Haro (Divina Seguros Joventut), Tom Digbeu (FC Barcelona Lassa) and Ariel Hukporti (Porsche Ludwigsburg).

 

Divina Seguros Joventut Badalona took the third position after beating Porsche Ludwigsburg by 80-84 in a game that was not decided until the last plays. Aleix Haro, with 16 points and 6 assists, was the most prominent in the green and black squad. FC Barcelona Lassa secured the fifth place in the tournament after winning Movistar Estudiantes for 92-74 with Tom Digbeu (19 points and 6 rebounds) and Pau Carreño (17 points and 6 assists) as the most outstanding players. And within the dynamic of equality of the tournament, the duel for the seventh place was decided at the end, falling on the side of LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne against Future Stars Prague by 59-61 after an overtime.
