Valencia Basket begins in the Copa del Rey Málaga 2020 facing Barça in quarterfinals

12/02/2020

Valencia Basket opens the Copa del Rey to be played in Malaga between February 13 and 16 facing the reigning champion and current leader of the Endesa League, Barça (Thursday 13, 19: 00h, Martin) Carpena, #Vamos).

The Taronja squad arrives at the KO tournament after adding two away-wins with the intention of ending its bad dynamics against this rival, against which has starred four high level duels decided at the end so far, but that have always fallen to favor of the blue and purple team. The last one, just a week ago in the Fonteta ended with a visitor victory by 76-77.

Captain Bojan Dubljevic refines the set-up of his left ankle to jump tomorrow to the Carpena parquet and snatch Nacho Rodilla from a stroke third place in both games played (435) and Cup games played (13) with Valencia Basket.

In addition to the Montenegrin center, Guillem Vives and Vanja Marinkovic also drag some discomfort, although the three will be able to help the team tomorrow. Sam Van Rossom and Jordan Loyd still sidelined for this Tournament.

It will be the 21st Copa del Rey for Valencia Basket in the last 23 years, since winning it in its debut in 1998. And it has established itself as the third team with the most participation in the last two decades. But the Taronja squad will try to break its recent bad dynamics in the tournament, in which has fallen in the quarterfinals in four of its last five participations.
