1993-94
ACB LEAGUE
12th Regular League

An important season begins because of the changes in the roster. It is the third season of Manu Moreno at the head of a group in which there will be no players like Salva Díez, point guard for four seasons, who signs for FC Barcelona, José Luis “Indio” Díaz, and the center Larry Micheaux. Neither JJ Llamas, who will play that year in Gandía.
Brad Branson continued in the team, in what will be his last season in the Valencian roster. On the backcourt, the figure of Eric Johnson, signed the previous year, will gain more prominence, and to palliate the absence of Díez and help Johnson in the direction, Joaquín Ruíz-Llorente will be hired, coming from CAI Zaragoza and Jesús “Chus” Bueno, point guard who returned from a loan to Llíria. For much of the season, the ruptured cruciate ligament of Llorente left the point guard position in the hands of Bueno and Johnson.
In the season's starting lineup, the reference on the backcourt would be again the Californian small forward Conner Henry, author of great scores the previous season. His season was again explosive until the 16th game, where he was replaced by Tim Breaux, an explosive outside scorer who after his time in Valencia would win the NBA championship ring with the Houston Rockets.
If there is a significant addition this year, it is that of John Michael Smith, a New York power forward who came to the club with great cachet. He was chosen in the 13th position of the 1989 Draft by the Boston Celtics, where he played for a couple of seasons. Already in the ranks of Pamesa Valencia, Smith was able to set scoring records that endure today, as the spectacular 50 points he would achieve against CAI Zaragoza on January 22, 1994, which today remains the highest individual score in the history of Valencia.
The inside game would be completed with the active presence of Pedro Rodríguez, in his second season at the club. Juan Carlos Barros, would help again at small forward and power forward in his fourth year in the Valencian squad.
During the season, the load tests carried out in the Fonteta for its subsequent remodeling, lead the team to leave it for two games and go to play at Pla de L'Arc de Llíria against DKV Joventut and Elmar León, two victories that serve Breaux to show in his debut as a Valencian player, and in which he gives a great impression.
From the youth teams, a new youth player, Jesús Fernández, who will have his first minutes during the year, will join the first team. Another player from the academy, Víctor Luengo, will continue to gain prominence in the team.
However, the irregular season leads the team to cross against Cáceres in the 3-game Play-Offs with home-court advantage against them. However, Pamesa Valencia achieves the most difficult thing, and wins in Extremadura in the first game with a final basket by the recovered Ruiz-Llorente. However, they did not finish off the second game, and lost the second game in La Fonteta by a tight 77-79. The third game, again in Cáceres, again prevents them from reaching the European dream.
