Good end to the week with a win on the court of Covirán Granada (69-97)

ValenciaBasket secured their 19th victory in the Liga Endesa defeating Covirán Granadaby 69-97 in a game where Costello and Ojeleye led the third effort of the weekwith seven players in PIR double number to keep looking upward in the nationalcompetition. We started strong, taking control of the game with our earlyaccuracy from the three-point line, although the home team reacted to tie it bythe end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Valencia defense shutdown the basket and built a lead, reaching the halftime break with a run thatwas extended to 2-21 at the start of the third quarter. Costello’s performancein the start of the second half boosted the team to stretch the advantage to anew maximum, which exceeded thirty points, but the local team came back byhitting five consecutive three-pointers, with Griffin leading the charge,closing the gap and giving them a chance heading into the final quarter. Pointsfrom Ojeleye and Badio helped contain the Granada comeback attempt, which nevergot closer than fifteen points, and the final moments allowed Sergio De Larreato continue regaining his rhythm in his return after injury.
